CHICAGO, HE'S A GODDAMN VAMPIRE

This fall, one actor takes five shots of whiskey and attempts an epic retelling of Transylvania’s thirstiest bachelor… DRACULA!

When history’s most famous vampire (sorry, Edward) is loosed upon the Windy City, will you try to stop him…or let him have his way? The Drunk Shakespeare Society is paying homage to the original drinker and bringing its brand of mayhem to the spooky season with Drunk Dracula.

THE SHOW

BLOOD SUCKER. FAME F*CKER. 5 SHOTS DEEP

01

ONE ACTOR DRINKS

A professional actor takes five shots of whiskey. Live. For real.

02

THE PLOT FIGHTS BACK

Four sober castmates attempt to finish Dracula anyway.

03

90 MINUTES. NO FILLER.

In-the-round in a hidden speakeasy. Three rows deep – no bad seats.

04

10000% worth it! The actors are hilarious, highly entertaining and I will DEFINITELY be going again! The theatre is a little smaller than I anticipated, but it was perfect for the show. If you want drinks you have to scan the QR code on the back of your seat(took me a minute to figure that one out). 10/10 have already recommended to friends.

Super fun and the cast was totally committed in every way. It's our 3rd experience with the Drunk Shakespeare Society, having seen a show in NYC and Wash DC the past few years. This one measured up very well.

BEFORE YOU BITE.

QUESTIONS, ANSWERED.

IS THIS THE SAME THING AS DRUNK SHAKESPEARE?

Same team, new undead story. Drunk Dracula comes from The Drunk Shakespeare Society, the company that’s been getting one actor gloriously drunk and turning classics into chaos for over a decade. This time we’ve traded iambic pentameter for Transylvania’s thirstiest bachelor. If you loved Drunk Shakespeare, or any of our drunken tales, you already know the drill: real actors, real alcohol, and no two nights are the same. If you’ve never been, this is a great place to start.

It’s a comedy in a cape. Expect fog, strobe lights, loud noises, and hilarious antics – nobody is going to chase you, and we don’t actually bite… hard.

No homework required. If you know that vampires and drinking exist, you’re caught up. The jokes are modern, the references are pop culture, and the plot stays as clear as it can after 5 shots of whiskey.

Yes – really. One professional actor drinks five shots of the liquor of their choice to start the show. The cast rotates who drinks each night, eats and hydrates beforehand, and is provided with safe transportation home. We take drinking responsibly seriously, and work with our team to make sure it is safe and sustainable.

Not at all. The cast drinks so you don’t have to. There is no drink minimum, and we’ve got a great selection of mocktails that can be delivered directly to your seat.

Only if you volunteer. Participation is always your choice – sit in the back row to watch, stage side to play, or take the throne to run the whole show.

Looking for things to do in Chicago this fall that beat another improv set or a Halloween bar crawl? Drunk Dracula is smart, ridiculous, genuinely great theater with a whiskey problem. Date-night-friendly, group-friendly, 90 minutes, no intermission – your night is still young when it ends. The show is strictly 21+ and everyone is ID’d at the door.

The Lion Theatre is located at Wabash and Lake, steps from the Clark/Lake or Millennium Stations. Numerous paid parking garages are available nearby, including 50 E Randolph. For the best rates, we recommend utilizing ParkWhiz.

GET BIT.

Yeah, you know you want to. Now playing through Halloween.
